This week is the National Apprenticeship Week 2022. It has been created to celebrate apprenticeships and apprentices to It shine a light on how apprentices have helped employers of all sectors and industries.
Unlike university or traditional education, apprenticeships focus on learning through on-the-job experience while studying for qualifications. These qualifications are nationally-recognised so can be added to a CV.
In order to apply for an apprenticeship:
Be over the age of 16
Living in the country of the apprenticeship
Not in full-time education
There are different levels of apprenticeships:
Intermediate apprenticeships: level 2, between one year and 19 months
Advanced apprenticeships: Level 3, usually over two years
Higher apprenticeships: Level 4, between three to six years
Degree apprenticeships: Levels 6 — 7, between three to six years
