We’ve already covered how to write a CV here, but it can be easier with a visual template. At Boardrm, we are you career partner for life, so we want to give out as much advice as possible. Here is a CV template with some extra tips to help you get a jump start on building a stand out CV.
You should always try to keep your CV as clear and concise as possible because employers don’t have time to read paragraph after paragraph about experience that just isn’t relevant. We’ve put together a couple of pointers to help you out:
Personal statement:
This should be the first section of your CV and always tailored to the job in question. If you’re having trouble with this, keep in mind these three questions:
- Who are you?
- What do you have to offer?
- What are you aiming for in your career?
Employment history:
This is the place to list and describe your employment history in reverse-chronological order (the most recent role at the top)
- demonstrate your relevant skills and abilities
- daily duties
- the accomplishments and achievements
Education:
You should state all qualifications you’ve achieved and general grades. This includes GSCE’s, A-Levels or B-Techs, Degrees and any extra qualifications you’ve done that are worth mentioning.
Hobbies and Interests:
This is not a must but if there’s a relevant skill you’ve gained through a hobby that may be connected to your career or shows a level of discipline feel free to include!
References:
Unless asked directly, stating that 'References are available on request' is fine!
