The Brand Protection Assistant will sit in the Brand & IP team, within the ASOS Legal Department. As an innovative pure-play e-commerce fashion destination, every inch of ASOS incorporates intellectual property and brand. This role will be critical in helping ensure that the Brand & IP team protects the ASOS business across the globe. No two days are the same in brand protection and you'll need to thrive in change and be enthusiastic to engage with and build relationships with multiple facets of the ASOS business, not to mention external suppliers who help us protect the ASOS brand. Youﾒll need a passion for protecting brand assets from domains to trade marks, across a range of different platforms from Alibaba to Twitter. You'll need to be hands-on and commercially minded, and have the energy and interest to pursue a broad array of tasks. Brand protection - Assisting ASOS Legalﾒs Brand & IP team with the protection and enforcement of ASOS brand and intellectual property rights online, including: monitoring our online brand protection platform. Managing our brand protection accounts on various platforms such as marketplaces and social media. Carrying out and supporting enforcement activity against infringing uses of ASOSﾒ brand/ rights online including on auction sites, websites, social media, apps. Conducting desktop investigations / instructing external investigations into potential infringers. Preparing evidence to support enforcement activity. Maintaining and updating internal records and our online brand protection platform. Attending brand protection conference calls and meetings with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Liaising with our online brand protection platform provider and external lawyers. Preparing updates for internal stakeholders. Monitoring general online brand protection developments, particularly in the retail sector. Supporting the team with its relationships with regulators, platform providers, enforcement agencies, and other brand owners. Managing enforcement costs. Communicating with and updating stakeholders who report brand protection issues. Domains - Assisting with the management of the ASOS domains portfolio, which may include: Placing and managing orders for domains. Reviewing new gTLDs. Updating the domains handbook. Attending calls with our registrar and dealing with administrative queries. Managing domain costs. Liaising with our tech teams and other relevant stakeholders regarding the ASOS domain portfolio. Answering general queries (internal and external) on the ASOS domain portfolio. Assisting the Brand & IP team with gap analysis on the ASOS domain portfolio. Auditing the ASOS domain portfolio. Experience and qualifications you'll need. Communication and enthusiasm is key to any role in the Legal Department, as our team members continually build relationships at all levels across the business, at the same time as working together to deliver whatﾒs needed, when needed, by whatever means necessary. All team members must be approachable & capable of adapting their approach and communications to ensure excellent inter-action with the wide variety of people and personalities across the unique environment of ASOS.
